PAST WORK:
The Browning Version
by Terence Rattigan
A classic gem of the British stage, The Browning Version by Terence Rattigan will be touring around Devon and Somerset this autumn.
It will be produced by The Uncommon Players who have developed a reputation for creating compelling productions of classic plays such as Educating Rita and Talking Heads.
The Browning Version will be created in collaboration with Cygnet Drama School, and will feature a combination of excellent young actors and the cream of regional performers.
Written in 1953, this short and intense drama shows Rattigan to be the master of language and British understatement who understood all about a stiff upper lip.
“Few dramatists have written with more understanding of the human heart than Terence Rattigan"
Andrew Crocker-Harris is an unpopular and unloved teacher, once passionate but more recently bowed down by a failing relationship and an institution that doesn’t share his values.
Director Anthony Richards adds:
“This wonderful play is a deeply moving study in integrity, timeless values and our capacity to survive against the odds, when we can reach out and accept the generosity of others.”
